This course will provide a comprehensive overview of the legal and regulatory framework that governs Adult Residential Facilities (ARFs) and Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs) in California. Participants will explore Title 22 regulations, Health & Safety Code provisions, and current CDSS policies that impact daily operations, resident rights, and administrator responsibilities. Through real-world scenarios, participants will analyze regulatory compliance requirements and learn strategies for establishing and maintaining compliance. Whether new to administration or a seasoned professional, this course equips participants with the knowledge needed to maintain regulatory compliance and foster a safe, lawful environment for residents and staff.

LGBTQ+ Cultural Competency in Residential Care (Coming Soon!)
This course introduces essential concepts for providing respectful, inclusive, and affirming care to LGBTQ+ residents in ARF and RCFE settings. Participants will examine the historical and ongoing challenges faced by LGBTQ+ older adults and individuals with developmental disabilities. The training focuses on the importance of inclusive language, privacy, staff sensitivity, and trauma-informed care practices. Attendees will leave with practical tools to support gender identity, sexual orientation, and cultural diversity while complying with California's anti-discrimination regulations and promoting dignity and belonging for all residents.
